AI tools for customer support

The smallest tag on the site and the most commercially coherent. Most of it is voice.

Data last refreshed 2026-07-05

This list is voice-heavy, and that is worth saying up front

Ten entries, and the majority of them are voice-agent platforms. That gives this page an unusually tight buying question: latency, telephony integration, per-minute economics, and who owns the model in the stack. Read those four attributes across the list and you have most of the decision.

The gap is equally clear. There is no ticket-deflection helpdesk AI in the index yet — the chat-widget and inbox-copilot layer that most support teams meet first is simply not covered here. What is covered is the infrastructure end: platforms you build an agent on, plus one enterprise resolution platform and a couple of call-intelligence tools that read conversations rather than run them.

So this is a real shortlist for anyone building phone or voice automation, and an incomplete one for anyone shopping for helpdesk software. Better to say that than to pad the list.

What carries this tag

  • Voice agent platforms for inbound and outbound calling.
  • Autonomous resolution platforms that act on backend systems.
  • Call and conversation intelligence: transcription, sentiment, CRM writeback.
  • Brand-governed writing tools used for support content and macros.
  • Chat-widget deflection and helpdesk suites are not yet indexed here.

Which categories these come from

6 of 10 are free or freemium, 4 are paid only.

All 10, ranked

Ranked on AI Score, then adjusted for how recently the tool shipped, whether it is an editor's pick, and what readers actually open — so a strong recent release can edge out a slightly higher score. Every entry shows what it is good for and what it costs you, including the parts the vendor leads away from.

Limited transcription credits with 800 minutes of storage and basic AI summaries

Trade-offs
  • Free tier is restrictive — limited credits run out fast for regular users
  • Transcription accuracy dips with heavy accents or overlapping speakers
5 Bland AI logo
Bland AI 8.6/10 From $0.09/min or plans from ~$499/mo ★ Pick Chatbots

API-first platform for building and deploying high-volume AI phone agents, optimized for enterprise outbound and inbound calling at scale.

  • Batch calling API launches thousands of concurrent outbound calls
  • No-code Pathway builder for branching conversation flows
  • Native CRM and webhook integrations push call outcomes into existing systems
  • Sub-second voice latency built for volume rather than single-agent polish
Pricing

From $0.09/min or plans from ~$499/mo

Trade-offs
  • No free tier makes it harder to evaluate compared to Retell AI or Vapi's free credits
  • At $0.09/min it's pricier per minute than some competitors — costs add up fast at volume
6 Sierra logo
Sierra 8.7/10 Enterprise only — outcome-based, contact sales Chatbots

Enterprise platform for building autonomous customer-service agents that work across chat, voice, SMS, WhatsApp and email — billed per resolved issue.

Best for Large enterprises building branded, autonomous customer-service agents that need to act on real backend systems, not just answer questions.

  • Single agent deploys consistently across chat, voice, SMS, WhatsApp, email, and ChatGPT
  • Agents take real backend actions like refunds or subscription changes, not only conversation
  • Outcome-based pricing bills per resolved interaction instead of per seat or message
  • Agent Studio and Agent Data Platform cover agent design plus monitoring and analytics
Pricing

Enterprise only — outcome-based, contact sales

Trade-offs
  • Enterprise-only with no free tier, no self-serve signup, and no public pricing
  • Outcome-based pricing is hard to forecast without a sales negotiation
7
xAI Voice Agent Builder 8.2/10 Usage-based from $0.05/min Chatbots

xAI's no-code platform for building and deploying human-like voice agents powered by Grok Voice, with an API for support, sales, and custom call flows.

Best for Support and sales teams deploying phone-based voice agents for support calls, appointment booking, and outbound lead qualification.

  • Runs natively on xAI's own Grok Voice model instead of a third-party STT/LLM/TTS stack
  • Pairs a no-code visual builder with a full API for deeper integration
  • Usage-based pricing starting at $0.05 per minute
  • Single-vendor stack simplifies latency and billing for teams already on the Grok API
Pricing

Usage-based from $0.05/min

Trade-offs
  • No free tier — you pay per minute from the first call, unlike rivals that offer trial credits
  • Brand-new (launched July 2026), so real-world reliability, latency, and language coverage are unproven
8 Tavus logo
Tavus 8/10 Free tier with credits; usage-based paid plans + enterprise (check site for current rates) Video

Developer platform for real-time conversational video AI — build face-to-face video agents with digital human replicas and sub-second response latency.

Best for Developers and product teams building live, face-to-face AI video agents for interviewing, coaching, sales, tutoring, or support via API.

  • Sub-second response latency from an end-to-end CVI pipeline (perception, turn-taking, rendering, LLM)
  • Separate Raven (perception) and Sparrow (turn-taking) models fix the interruption/timing issues most demos ignore
  • Digital replicas usable for both live conversation and scripted personalized video from one likeness
  • API and embeddable components, built for integration rather than manual export
Free tier

Yes — a free plan with starter credits for conversational minutes and replica generation, enough to prototype the API before committing to usage-based billing.

Trade-offs
  • Conversational-minute usage billing can get expensive at scale compared to rendering a video once
  • Requires engineering work to integrate — not a log-in-and-export tool for non-technical marketers
9 Jotform AI App Builder logo
Jotform AI App Builder 7.8/10 Free tier + paid Jotform plans from ~$34/mo (Bronze, billed annually) Productivity

No-code AI builder that turns a text prompt, file, or URL into a working web and mobile app with forms, workflows, and data.

Best for Small-business owners, nonprofits, and HR or event teams who want a data-connected web and mobile app built from a prompt, without writing code.

  • Generates a working app from a prompt, uploaded file, or pasted URL
  • Built on Jotform's 10,000+ templates, payments, and submission storage
  • Publishes to web and mobile without a separate build or deploy step
  • Inherits Jotform's approval workflows and automation integrations
Free tier

Yes — the free Starter plan lets you build and run apps within submission and AI limits. Pricing scales by forms/submissions, not by the App Builder itself; verify current numbers on Jotform's pricing page since promotional discounts shift the headline price.

Trade-offs
  • Scope is forms, data, and workflows — not general software; no custom front-end logic or exportable code
  • Locked into Jotform's ecosystem; pricing is gated by monthly submission limits that climb fast at volume
10 SellerClaw logo
SellerClaw 7.8/10 Freemium (public beta) Productivity

A coordinated team of AI agents that autonomously handles product sourcing, listings, ads, pricing, orders, fulfillment, and customer support across e-commerce platforms.

Best for Shopify and eBay sellers who want one system to handle sourcing, listings, ads, pricing, orders, and support instead of juggling separate tools.

  • Coordinated multi-agent team covers the full seller workflow, not a single point solution
  • Agents communicate — a pricing change can auto-trigger ad bid and listing updates
  • Free public beta lets you evaluate before committing to a paid tier
  • Replaces a stack of disconnected repricing, listing, and helpdesk tools with one agentic layer
Free tier

Freemium public beta available. Exact free-tier limits are not publicly listed — sign up to see current access level.

Trade-offs
  • Early-stage product still in public beta — expect rough edges and missing features
  • Pricing tiers and limits aren't transparent without signing up

The four questions that decide it

How you are billed

Per minute, per resolved interaction, per seat, or a platform fee plus pass-through. These are not comparable without modelling your own call volume, and the headline rate usually excludes the LLM and speech costs underneath it.

Latency, and what it is measured on

Turn-taking delay is what makes a voice agent feel human or infuriating. Published figures are best-case and rarely include your own function calls, which are the slow part in production.

Can it actually do the thing

An agent that explains your refund policy is a different product to an agent that issues the refund. Backend actions, function calling and system access separate real deflection from a talking FAQ.

Escalation and compliance

How the handoff to a human works, what the agent does when it is out of its depth, and whether the platform meets whatever regime you operate under. HIPAA and PCI are load-bearing requirements, not features.

What the vendors do not lead with

  • Containment and resolution rates are vendor-reported and defined by the vendor. They are not comparable across platforms and they are not a promise about your call mix.
  • A bad agent is more expensive than no agent. Failed containment adds a frustrated caller to the queue your humans still have to clear.
  • Per-minute pricing hides the stack. Speech recognition, model inference and text-to-speech are often billed through separately, so build the full cost before comparing rates.
