Voice Agent Builder is xAI's no-code platform for building, testing, and deploying real-time voice agents that field phone calls and conversations without a human on the line. Launched July 1, 2026, it wraps xAI's Grok Voice speech model in a visual builder — you define the agent's persona, goals, and call logic, then deploy it for inbound or outbound tasks like customer support, appointment booking, lead qualification, and sales outreach. An API sits alongside the builder for teams that want to wire agents into existing telephony, CRMs, or internal tools programmatically.

The pitch is the same one Vapi, Retell AI, and Bland AI have been making — turn an LLM into a low-latency phone agent — but with xAI's own stack top to bottom. Instead of stitching a third-party STT model, an LLM, and a TTS voice together, Voice Agent Builder runs on Grok Voice natively, which is xAI's bet on tighter latency and more natural turn-taking. For anyone already building on the Grok API, it collapses the voice-agent pipeline into a single vendor.

Pricing is usage-based, starting at $0.05 per minute — competitive on paper with the incumbent voice-agent platforms, which typically layer platform fees on top of separate model and telephony costs. What's still unclear from launch materials is exactly what that per-minute rate bundles (telephony, model inference, and concurrency limits often live in separate line items across this category), so check the current pricing page before you model call volume at scale.
