OpenAI Dots launched at DevDay on September 29, 2026 as always-on AI agents that OpenAI describes as able to work toward goals around the clock. Unlike a normal ChatGPT turn, each Dot gets its own cloud computer with a browser and access to OpenAI’s plugin ecosystem (press covering the launch reports more than 4,000 connected apps).
