Benchmarks and math — OpenAI's count, useful background

OpenAI has positioned Astra as state-of-the-art on hard coding, math, and computer-use work. Company materials and secondary coverage cite saturation-style scores on FrontierMath Tier 4, ARC-AGI-3, and ExploitBench, plus computer-use harness gains that also lift earlier GPT-5.6 Sol-class models. Treat those as OpenAI-reported or press-relayed signals, not as independent third-party harness reruns you can shop against.

The early-August math story still matters as background: OpenAI claimed multiple long-horizon advances on hard math / theoretical CS problems inside its own evaluation setup. An "advance" is wider than "solved," and third parties still cannot freely rerun those exact problems the way they can a published SWE-bench chart. Useful as a capability signal. Not a shopping metric.

Codex-side context handling is another real product note where reported: persistent notes across windows instead of compaction-only summaries, so earlier requirements and failed fixes stay searchable after the window fills. That is a workflow claim about the shipping surface, not an access claim about who already has Astra.

Cyber rating still shapes the rollout shape

Astra meeting a Critical cybersecurity threshold under OpenAI's Preparedness Framework is the reason the release pattern looks gated: limited orgs first, workspace toggles, usage review, and a restricted prompt posture for certain cyber workflows.
