Claude Dashboards Beta After Free Docs GA

Claude Dashboards and Motion entered beta on October 8, 2026, while Docs, Slides, and Design left beta on Free through Enterprise.

Claude can now keep a company dashboard current after a plain-language ask, and Anthropic put that capability into beta on October 8, 2026, alongside Claude Motion for code-built explainers. Docs, Slides, and Design left beta the same day and sit on every plan, including Free, per Reuters’ October 8 report.

September 16 through October 8

September 16, 2026: Claude Design, which had lived at its own URL on claude.ai/design, also started working inside every Claude conversation so it could use chat context, files, and connectors. Anthropic’s product note on the launch says running two Design surfaces slowed fixes for both, so the standalone site is being folded into Claude.

October 6, 2026: Anthropic published separate Workspace connectors for Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides (in beta), which is useful context for a week that kept expanding Claude’s office surface area. That piece sits next to the Dashboards and Motion article in Anthropic’s resources feed.

October 8, 2026: Anthropic’s Dashboards and Motion announcement says Claude Dashboards is in beta on paid plans, Claude Motion is in beta on Team and Enterprise, and Docs, Slides, and Design are out of beta on every plan, including Free. The same post cites more than 45 million docs, decks, and designs already made in Claude since those artifact types first appeared in conversation.

Dashboards connect to data platforms such as Amazon Redshift, BigQuery, ClickHouse, Databricks, or Snowflake, and to CRM tools such as Salesforce. Claude pulls answers, builds the board, and refreshes it as the data changes. Each chart exposes the query behind it and when the data last refreshed. Anthropic positions this next to existing BI tools, with handoff targets that include Amplitude, Grafana, Hex, Mixpanel, Omni, Perplexity, PostHog, and Sigma, and Looker, monday.com, and Tableau listed as coming soon.

Motion turns a prompt into a short explainer that plays like a video and exports as an MP4. Anthropic is explicit that it writes editable animation code for text, charts, shapes, and images rather than using a video generation model, so there is no generated footage and no AI-generated people. Further editing can move into Adobe, Descript, HeyGen, Higgsfield, invideo, Luma AI, or Runway, with Canva and Captions listed as coming soon.

December 14, 2026 is the hard date already on the calendar for the standalone Design site. Projects keep working there until it closes. Chats, comments, and public links on that surface do not carry over. Anthropic tells teams to migrate design systems from the Artifacts page now, while originals stay unchanged until shutdown.

Enterprise admins get a separate switch schedule in the same note: Dashboards and Motion are off by default under Organization settings > Artifacts, and Docs, Slides, and Design turn on by default on October 15, 2026 (or earlier if an admin flips them on).

Anthropic’s pricing page lines up with that access cut. Free lists Claude Design, Slides, and Docs, and marks Claude Dashboards (beta) and Claude Motion (beta) as unavailable. Pro, billed at $17 per month on the annual discount or $20 monthly, adds Dashboards (beta) but still shows Motion as unavailable on individual Max tiers. Team and Enterprise list both Motion and Dashboards (beta). Team Standard seats are $20 per seat per month billed annually ($25 monthly); Premium seats are $100 annually billed ($125 monthly).

More than 45 million artifacts already in Claude

October 8 puts Free and everyday plans on the high-volume artifact types that Anthropic’s announcement credits with more than 45 million docs, decks, and designs already made in Claude. Live company data and code-authored motion stay behind paid seats, with Motion narrower still (Team and Enterprise only, admin-gated on Enterprise).

The transparency pitch is doing real product work here. Dashboards show SQL. Motion shows editable animation code. That matches Anthropic’s stated line that Claude makes the first version and the user decides what gets shared.

The consolidation pressure is just as clear. Design moving from a standalone site into chat on September 16, then a December 14 close date, tells you Anthropic wants one artifact surface with admin controls (CMEK for Artifacts, template choice, outside-org sharing when allowed), not a forever fork of Design URLs. The same resources feed lists an October 6 note that teams on Google Workspace can bring Claude into Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides files, or work on those files from Claude, through a new add-on and connectors (in beta).

Anthropic’s pricing matrix matches the launch gates today: Free includes Design, Slides, and Docs; Pro and Max add Dashboards (beta) and leave Motion unavailable on the individual cards; Team and Enterprise list both Motion and Dashboards (beta), with Enterprise keeping both off by default until an admin enables them under Organization settings > Artifacts.

December 14 on the standalone Design site

The clean falsifier for that consolidation read is concrete and already dated. If claude.ai/design remains a supported second Design product after December 14, 2026, with chats, comments, and public links still living there, Anthropic will have broken its own migration clock and the one-surface thesis that October 8 sits on top of.

A second break would be Motion appearing on the individual Pro or Max feature matrix while Team and Enterprise remain the only seats Anthropic’s launch post names for Motion beta. That would rewrite the paid ladder the pricing table publishes today.

Enterprise admins who leave Docs, Slides, and Design alone still get the October 15, 2026 default-on flip Anthropic already published, while December 14, 2026 remains the published close for the standalone Design site at claude.ai/design.
